Italy are the team to watch going into the quarter-finals of the Dadu U16 European Championship Men as Spain became their latest victim on Wednesday night, losing 74-62.
Italy remain the only undefeated team in the tournament with their winning streak now extended to six games.
The latest victory came on the back of another dominant performance under the baskets with 48 of their points coming inside the paint.
Thinking ahead to the next round, Antonio Bocchino relied on a heavy rotation policy to conserve his players for their up-and-coming quarter-final on Friday. 10 of the Italian players clocked more than nine minutes playing time.
Diego Flaccadori and Daniel Donzelli topped Italian scoring with 17 points apiece. Pierfrancesco Oliva helped out with 16 points and nine boards.
Marc Garcia continued his trend of leading his team in scoring, picking up 14 points.
